The Board will provide special education services for all children with exceptional needs as defined in State and
Federal law.
The level and type of service provided will be determined in accordance with the educational plans required under
Section 504 and the Individual With Disabilities Education Act. Children with disabilities will be educated in the
regular instructional program whenever possible.
The needs of some children are so great, however, that special instructional programs, facilities, or services are
necessary beyond those of the regular classroom program. The Board will provide the opportunity for specialized
instruction for these children according to their individual educational plan (IEP). Special educational programs will
be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the law and State regulations as outlined in the Department of
Public Instruction Model Special Education Policy Document.
Special Education Due Process Consideration
In case of dispute between the District and parents or guardians of a child, the District’s administrative procedure
will be followed.
