A. Application Materials: “Application materials” include any documents submitted by an applicant in response to
a position vacancy.
B. External Applicant: For the purposes of this policy, an “external applicant” is:
a. Any part-time District employee interested in being considered for a vacant position;
b. Any District employee interested in being considered for a vacant position in a different employment
c. Any person who is not currently employed by the District who is interested in being considered for a
C. Internal Applicant: For the purposes of this policy, an “internal applicant” is any full-time District employee
interested in being considered for a vacant full-time position within the same employment classification.
All position vacancies will be posted online through the Wisconsin Education Career Access Network (WECAN).
The District will also notify all District staff of position vacancies via their District email accounts.
If an external applicant is interested in applying for a vacant position, he or she must apply using the WECAN
online application process.
If an internal applicant is interested in applying for a vacant position, he or she must submit a letter of interest and
resume via email as an attachment to the Human Resources Director and the hiring administrator.
The District will not accept hard-copy application materials from any applicant.
If an applicant requires use of a computer in order to submit application materials through either the external or
internal online application process, a computer with internet service is available in the Human Resources Office.
Retention of Application Materials
The District will retain letters of interest and resumes submitted by internal applicants in the employee’s personnel
All application materials submitted by external applicants through the online application process will be retained
online by WECAN for three years.
Any application materials that have not been submitted in accordance with the above application process will not
be retained by the District.
