3121 AdmGuide Criminal History Record Check

Prior to making any offer of employment to a new applicant, the following procedure is to be used:


  1. The applicant must provide authorization for the District to conduct one or more criminal background checks. The authorization forms may ask the applicant, on a voluntary basis, to provide his/her Social Security number.

  2. All information received from the check shall be kept confidential by the person receiving the report and is to be shared only with the Superintendent. If the applicant is subsequently employed, the record check shall be kept in his/her confidential file.

  3. The Superintendent shall determine whether or not to consider disqualification of an applicant based on the records check.
