3120.08 Policy Employment of Personnel for Co-curricular Extra-curricular Activities

The School Board may find it necessary to employ, on a part-time basis, coaches or activity sponsors who are not members of the professional staff. Subject to and consistent with any applicable WIAA rules and guidelines, such part-time employees may be members of the District's support staff or individuals from the community or nearby areas.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to act for the Board in employing such part-time staff.

The Superintendent shall establish administrative procedures to ensure that each person employed as a coach or advisor has the appropriate qualifications, has been properly interviewed, and receives information relevant to his/her position. There must also be verification that a satisfactory background check has been conducted by the District through appropriate state agencies or other applicable means.
