5512 Policy_Use of Tobacco by Students

The Board of Education is committed to providing students, staff, and visitors with a smoke and

tobacco-free environment. Students less than eighteen (18) years of age are generally prohibited by

law from purchasing or possessing cigarettes and other tobacco products.

Accordingly, the Board prohibits students from using or possessing tobacco and non-tobacco

products designed for smoking in any form including, but not limited to, cigarettes, electronic

cigarettes, cigars, snuff, flavored smokable vapors and products and chewing tobacco on District

premises, in District vehicles, within any indoor facility owned or while leased or contracted for by

the District and used to provide education or library services to children, and at all District-sponsored

events.
