8410 Policy_School Safety and Crisis Intervention

The Board of Education believes that the employees, students of the District, and visitors, are entitled to function in
a safe school environment. In this regard, the Board has adopted policies related to conduct in the school setting
as well as those that address various crisis situations.

The Superintendent shall promulgate administrative procedures for responding to a crisis situation, developing
school safety plans, and providing effective intervention for students who may show warning signs that relate to
violence or other threatening behaviors.

A school safety plan will be developed for each school in the District and approved by the Board. Each school’s
plan will be reviewed annually and resubmitted to the Board for approval no later than September 1st.
